OJ reads the Today devotional regularly. Like all of us, sometimes the Holy Spirit speaks to us more profoundly than at other times.
“It brought me to tears,” OJ says. “I know the sin I have committed in my life and how it ravaged and destroyed my garden. I was in such a desolate, fearful and traumatic state. I cannot believe how bad my life got. Why did I let deceitful lies and temptation lead me down such a horrible path?”
We can all relate to that feeling of being overwhelmed by the weight of our sin. And yet God meets us there and shows us his love and goodness. Often, God uses his Word to help us move forward, just like he did for OJ.
“I praise God with every fiber of my being for delivering me. He set me free. He died for me,” he says. “Please pray for me that God forgives me and restores me. I need Him to revive me and cause His face to shine upon me. Only then will I know true joy and peace. Amen. Thank you.”
God’s Word can lead to joy, repentance, grief, love, and everything in between. That’s why it’s so powerful. It’s also why at ReFrame we work so hard to get God’s Word to as many people as possible.
