Living as Easter People
Happy Easter! If you attend a worship service on Easter Sunday, you will likely hear the words, “Christ is risen! He is risen indeed!” And you may sing the words “Christ the Lord is risen today! Hallelujah!” After all the sobriety and solemnity of Lent and Good Friday, it’s exciting to be part of a celebration of Christ’s resurrection.
But what happens Monday, the day after Easter, not to mention the days and weeks to follow? Do we go back to the “same old” ordinary things of life? Or are we changed because of what happened on Easter Sunday?
Our April theme for the Today devotions, written by Pastor Laurie Zuverink, is “Living as Easter People.” She is going to help us see what it meant for the early Christians to live as Easter people. How were their lives affected? What difference did it make for them?
But that’s not all. She’s also going to help us to see what that means for our own lives. As New Testament Christians, how should our lives be different? She’ll show us how to experience the joy, power, and freedom that comes with living as people who follow the resurrected Lord, as she reflects on many New Testament passages that show us how we should live.
Pastor Laurie Zuverink has worked in various capacities as a minister in the Christian Reformed Church. She especially enjoys working with young people and helping them learn what it means to experience life as followers of Jesus Christ and grow in their service to him.
As you read the Today devotionals this month, may you be refreshed, refocused, and renewed in God’s Word!
