4 Free Online Devotions

October 19, 2016 • Kaitlin Lubben

Finding the right devotional is important. It will help keep you engaged and growing in your faith in a way that works for you. Perhaps, you are looking to start doing personal devotions on a daily basis or you are just looking for something new. Either way, here are four suggestions for free online devotionals (each of these is  also available in print).

Today

Of course I couldn’t write this without suggesting you check us out! Today Daily Devotional was originally published in 1950 as The Family Altar. What sets Today apart is that each month features devotions written by a single author exploring a single theme. It’s like a 30-day Bible study! You can have Today emailed (or mailed bi-monthly) to you by clicking here. You can also listen to an audio version of the devotion, download the audio version, or check out our app in the app store (Apple or Android).

Our Daily Bread

The focus of Our Daily Bread Ministries is, “reaching out to people all around the world with the message of God’s love.” This ministry originally started as a radio program called Detroit Bible Class in 1938. They offer free daily devotions on their website, but you can also subscribe to have the devotions delivered to you each day. There are a few ways to do this, by print, by email, or by mobile app. If you want to take a look at this devotional, click here. If you want to jump right in and subscribe, click here.

Words of Hope

Our ministry—ReFrame Media— partners with Words of Hope to produce our radio and podcast program, Groundwork. They also offer free daily devotions! Their mission “is to proclaim the gospel through media in order to build the church” and they affirm the Reformed tradition. Words of Hope began broadcasting radio programs in 1945. Want to see if this is right for you? Take a look at Words of Hope’s devotions by clicking here. You can receive these devotions in print or via email.

InTouch

This program began on television in 1972 as The Chapel Hour. They believe the scripture was inspired by God as according to 2 Timothy 3:16. They broadcast in over 50 languages and produce “books, studies, discipleship resources, and the award-winning In Touch magazine…” They also offer a free devotional! You can subscribe to it in print or have it delivered to your inbox daily. Click here to read the devotion for today.

So there you have it! Four great suggestions for online devotionals (or print, if you prefer). If you don’t already, I hope you try to make personal devotions part of your daily routine. May you be refreshed, refocused, and renewed in God’s Word!
